Streetboard Meets

Flipsideland Session - 18/05/08

Last Sunday we met up with Colin Horan from Day One to session Flipsideland all day and it was Josh's first full day back on his board! Only 6 weeks have passed since his shin popping injury and surgery, and he informed us he'd been out having little roll around sessions already! Nutter. He didn't look like he'd missed a beat in his time off and was soon throwing front feebles down the blocks and air's in the mini. It's good to see you back dude. We all got some good photos and footage, check the results below:

Credit goes to Colin Horan for all the awesome Fish-Eye photos!

15th & 16th March 2008

Flipside hit the road a few weeks ago, with the weather not knowing what it's doing - with hot sunshine one day, followed by blizzards the next, an indoor park tour was the obvious choice. So Paul, Adam and Josh visited Creation Skate Park in Birmingham and Corby Skate Park one weekend to get some photos - which turned out to be Josh's last skate trip before his shin death.

We spent pretty much the whole weekend on mini ramp sessions and nabbed some shots, check them out below:

2nd February 08 session

Last Saturday SBUK riders Simon Johns, Alex Wheeler and part time Streetboarder/BMXer Dai came and visited the south coast and skated around Flipside HQ.

Simon "that ledge mate - death", Alex "eek"
Josh, Dai and Simon

The session started off at Flipsideland central, with Josh arriving battered from a hockey stick, Simon's hand battered, Dai throwing himself around all over the place and Adam and Alex chilling like it's Sunday. Ledge action was the order of the day with Simon gnaring a sweet bs 5-0 down it and Alex responding with a 180 switch smith and some other switch trickery.

Alex - 180 SW Smith
Simon - BS 5-0

Alex decided enough was enough and threw down a backflip out of the mini into a switch 50 50 down the ledge, which pretty much finished that spot off.

Next up - on to Marchwood.

We arrived at Marchwood to be greeted by a huge new dome like structure in the background that had been built since we were last there

Welcome to Marchwood - home of.....big domes?

Not exactly sure what it is, if you know then answers on a postcard.

To get us all going Josh parked his car as close to the fence as possible and started banging out the tunes - Summer of 69 - classic!

Josh's stereo pumping out the tuneage

Alex "look at that bloody great dome", Simon "i can visualise the 5-0, i can do it"

Simon's method of transport to the park was a little unorthadox

Josh "See i told you the sun shines out of my ass!"

So the session was on, Adam played around with nose bump tail slaps, getting blunts back on the spine mini and trying noseslide 270 out on the down ledge, Josh threw down some nose manuals accross the platform and Alex hit some sweet BS K Grinds over the flat bank on the Quarter Pipe.

Adam re-learning trickery from the glory days

Job done. The first proper session of 2008 went off well. Send us an e-mail if you're around and we'll hook up and skate for sure.
